Discover with Pinta y Pinto the incredible process that made us what we are today.
During the Palaeolithic, our ancestors were hunters and gatherers. They had no houses or cities; instead, they took refuge in caves and small shelters made of branches and animal skins. Here you can see a group of brave hunters chasing a deer, one of their main food sources. They hunted as a team with spears and bows, and gathered fruits and roots to survive.
At night, by the fire, they painted hunting and animal scenes on the cave walls, the first works of art of mankind. These cave paintings tell us stories about their life and beliefs. Join us on this journey into the past and discover how the first human beings lived, in a time when every day was a new adventure.
Moving forward in our history, we come to the Neolithic, a time of transformative change and significant advances. Here, mankind left nomadic life behind and settled in stable communities, thanks to the discovery of agriculture and animal husbandry. This revolution made it possible to produce and store food, which led to the formation of the first villages.
During the Neolithic, life became more organised. People built permanent dwellings and developed new technologies such as pottery and weaving. Teamwork and cooperation became essential to maintain crops and care for livestock. This era marked the beginning of private ownership and exchange of goods, laying the foundations for the first complex societies.
Human evolution continues with the Metal Age, an era of innovation and progress. In this stage, our ancestors learned to extract and work metals such as copper, bronze and iron, revolutionising their tools and weapons.
These new tools allowed for greater efficiency in agriculture, hunting and defence, marking a significant advance in the technology of the time.
This period encouraged trade and the expansion of communities. Surplus agricultural production and the creation of metal goods led to increased exchange between villages, promoting cooperation and the development of more complex societies. During this era, the first fortified settlements emerged and the division of labour became more pronounced, laying the foundations for modern civilisation.
